Training: Engage with the MEDIA

The Scottish Transgender Alliance is delighted to announce a series of FREE events specifically designed to assist trans people living in Scotland to promote equality through better engagement with public bodies, voluntary organisations and other key structures within society.

Travel expenses are available for participants on low incomes but must be arranged in advance.

From 10am to 4pm on Saturday 6th March 2010 there will be an Engage with the MEDIA training event. This training day will take place in Go Training, George House, 36 North Hanover Street, Glasgow, G1 2AD  next to the Glasgow Queen Street Railway Station.

Developed in partnership with the UK campaign group Trans Media Watch, this training day will explore a wide variety of practical skills for positively engaging with the Media and also for complaining effectively about transphobic media coverage. Delivered by Jennie Kermode, Media Relations Officer for Trans Media Watch with special guest speaker Martha Hand, Communications Officer for the National Trans Police Association.
