Travel expenses are available for participants on low incomes but must be arranged in advance.

From 10am to 1pm on Saturday 20th March 2010 there will be an Engage with the POLICE training event. This training session will take place in the Mitchell Library, 201 North St, Glasgow, G3 7DN. It will be followed by a combined National LGBT Forum and Scottish Transgender Alliance Forum looking at homophobic and transphobic hate crime.

Developed in partnership with the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (ACPOS) LGBT Reference Group and the National Trans Police Association, this training day will explore how trans people can use existing police structures to increase trans-awareness and inclusion within their local police forces. It will clarify various bits of police jargon and will provide a range of tools, resources and guidance to help trans people explain their rights and equality issues to their local police.

Representatives from a range of Scottish Police Forces will be available to network with the training participants over lunch. In the afternoon, there will be a joint National LGBT Forum and STA Forum looking at homophobic and transphobic hate crime.
