National LGBT & STA Forum: Hate Crime
Glasgow - Saturday 20 March 2010
March 2010 sees new hate crime laws come into effect in Scotland. These laws, for the first time, will help protect Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people. Scotland is the first country in Europe to implement hate crime law which covers transphobic hate crime.
But what does it mean for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Scotland?
Join us for the next joint meeting of the
National LGBT Forum and
Scottish Transgender Alliance Forum to find out. Contributions from Police forces and victims of hate crime, as well discussions around the implementation of the new laws and the best ways of ensuring LGBT people know their newly established rights.
The meeting will be held in at the
Mitchell Library, 201 North Steet, Glasgow, G3 7DN from
1.30pm until 4.30pm on
Saturday 20th March. As usual refreshments will be provided and a travel bursary scheme is in place where travel costs are a barrier to participation.
