STA TRANSforming Arts
FREE Residential Weekend Retreat
Badaguish Education Centre, Aviemore
6pm Friday 28th January 2011 to 11am Monday 31st January 2011
The Scottish Transgender Alliance ran a TRANSforming Arts residential retreat over the last weekend of January. There was no cost to participants - all accommodation, food and travel expenses were provided.
The residential retreat explored the topic of RELATIONSHIPS through storytelling. Participants were able to express their creativity through writing, art, music and drama.
Applications for spaces on the residential were made by people who self-identified as trans in some way (or as transsexual or transgender or transvestite or androgyne or genderqueer, etc).
Each trans person who applied was also able to include within their application, if they wished, someone with whom they consider themselves to have a significant relationship. This significant other did not need to be trans. For example, the trans person could bring a partner, a parent, a child, another relative, a friend, a support worker, etc.
Each trans person was expected to share a twin room with the person they selected to bring.
To apply, participants completed the online form at:

The application deadline was 9th January 2011.
